The four photos below are of a vacant building (formerly known as "Mikes Bar") in significant disrepair. Located at one of the Town's busiest intersections (Chili Avenue and Paul Road) on our "Main Street", it is reasonable to assume that this building is having a negative effect on the value of surrounding properties and the area in general. The first photo shows a portion of the vacant building that is in significant disrepair.

The photo below shows the parking lot, also in serious disrepair after being neglected for some time.

This is a photo of the rear of the building. Note the broken awning, partially bordered up windows and how overgrown the back yard has become.

And here is a full frontal view of the building which actually looks better in this photo than it does in real life!.

If Chili's current codes do not provide our Town with the authority to address the economic, aesthetic and community concerns this building generates, they should be updated! The right to own private property should also carry with it a responsibility to not do harm to neighboring properties and the rest of our community. Our Town Supervisor gives her take on the situation in her article to the GC Post in December 2006.
